James Ivy at Subterranean on November 12 Since 1994, Subterranean has been a cornerstone of the Wicker Park live music & nightlife scene. Built in the 1890s, the historic structure at 2011 W North Avenue has a storied past, having once served as a brothel, a bathhouse, and as a wire room for gambling during the prohibition era. Owner Robert Gomez has worked hard to preserve the original features of the space that have been in place since the building’s creation and give Subterranean its one of a kind character, including the iconic Tiffany & brass chandelier that hangs above the dance floor.

James Ivy, Korean-American singer/songwriter/producer from New Jersey, began his project in high school. Inspired by the rise of PC Music as a collective, and the innovation brought on by SOPHIE and A. G. Cook, James spent his free time teaching himself the ins and outs of home production.
