About this show

Syzygia plays Elastic Arts, a 150-capacity small room in Logan Square, on Saturday, December 5. The show starts at 8:30 PM. Tickets are $10 to $20 plus fees.

Syzygia is a Chicago-based quartet that performs freely improvised music, bridging spontaneity with ideas and aesthetics from contemporary classical music. The group treats improvisation as extemporaneous composition, informed by the concepts, textures, and structures of 20th- and 21st-century classical music. Each member contributes a distinctive voice to the ensemble, shaped by their extensive histories in classical, jazz, and new/creative music.
