About this show

The Detroit Cobras plays Reggies Music Joint, a 110-capacity small room in South Loop, on Saturday, December 12. Also on the bill: The Evictions. The show starts at 9 PM. 21+.

THE DETROIT COBRAS The Detroit Cobras emerged from the garage rock revival scene of the late 1990’s ~ early 2000’s, which included the Dirtbombs, White Stripes, Hentchmen and many many more. The music is mostly composed of obscure 1960’s R&B, soul, girl groups’ songs, delivered with an injection of natural raw garage punk rock & roll. After the sudden death of lead singer Rachel Nagy, the band was devastated. Following the city of Detroit’s motto ~ “We hope for better things; it shall rise from the ashes “, the band regrouped and got to working.
